Ardvasar is a pretty village on the Sleat Peninsula only a mile from the ferry terminal at Armadale. There is an excellent hotel within easy walking distance which has a restaurant and also serves bar meals. There is also a local shop which is very well stocked and a post office/garage.†There is a small but fascinating mix of shops gathered around the ferry area and an amazing forest walk with an otter hide.†Sleat is known as "The Garden of Skye" and it is easy to see why, everywhere is so green compared to the rest of Skye.
The Old Church is a wonderful house bursting with character. It was built in 1895 and converted to a house in the early 1990ís. Many of the walls have oak panelling, there is a magnificent picture window in the lounge overlooking the bay and a beautiful oak staircase.

In addition there is a kitchen/family room with another table for those who prefer to dine informally. There is an impressive wood burning stove which gives a lovely cosy feel to the room. All modern kitchen appliances are provided, e.g. cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble drier (some are situated in the adjacent utility room). There are also many other cooking aids such as a food processor, mixer, coffee machine etc.
The house has four bedrooms, upstairs there is a king sized room and two further bedrooms which can be used as either twin or king rooms. Downstairs there is another bedroom with bunk beds and there is also a double sofa bed in the dining room which is exceptionally comfortable (a privacy screen is also provided). There is a bathroom upstairs with a fabulous shower and a further bathroom downstairs with a bath with a shower over.
There is a pretty "cottage style" garden which is fully enclosed for the safety of children and pets. There is a beautiful wooden pew, lovingly restored and also a good range of garden furniture. We have also invested in "midge buster" machines to maximize your comfort.
