At Keeper's Cottage, you can sample the quiet life that the Highlands and Islands of Scotland offer. Completely self catering you come and go when you please from a perfect base to tour the Isle of Skye.
Keeper’s Cottage, in the charming settlement of Skeabost Bridge, provides comfortable accommodation for up to four people. The former gamekeeper’s cottage, overlooking attractive Loch Snizort, is a perfect base for discovering Skye’s beautiful scenery and diverse heritage.
At Skeabost Bridge is the idyllic Skeabost Country House Hotel, with restaurants and bars and an 18-tee, nine-hole golf course open to the public. Day and half day tickets are available for adjacent River Snizort, Skye’s foremost salmon river. Nearby are many other opportunities for anglers and two pony trekking centres.
The cottage adjoining Keeper’s Cottage was home to famed poetess Mary Macpherson (Mairi Mhor nan Oran). Born Mary MacDonald in Skeabost in 1821, she was nicknamed Big Mary of the Songs due to her size and larger than life personality. She was bard of the 1880s’ Land League agitation and invited to become official bard of the Clan MacDonald Society. An old well bears a plaque commemorating Mary’s family. It is not far up the track from Skeabost Cemetery, on the right of the forestry road.
'A wonderful holiday with our friends and neighbours. Thank you for introducing us to the Isle of Skye, definitely God's Country. Keeper's Cottage is a beautiful homely cottage, with fabulous views of the loch. All of the island is so beautiful and will stay in my memory until the next time.'

'The caretaker gave a kindly welcome to the cottage. The cottage is very clean and warm. Skye is a 'rainbow' island constantly changing with the weather. The whole island is full of artisans which made for a relaxing and memorable holiday. Thank you.'
