Fir Chlis is a self contained apartment which is perfect for those who enjoy the luxury of a hotel and the freedom of self catering. It is ideal for couples who are more adventurous and enjoy outdoor pursuits, as well as those who just want to relax and get away from it all.

The apartment is located in the quiet Hamlet of Ullinish and has uninterrupted views towards Loch Brachadale, the majestic Cuillin hills and Oronsay Island. To the rear of the land, one can enjoy views towards the western isles and Macleods Tables. Dunvegan is only 8 miles away.

The varied wildlife in the area include white tailed see eagles, hen harriers, golden eagles, buzzards, kestrels, owls and a vast array of other garden birds. Most of these are attracted to the land because of the abundance of small mammals in the area and the well stocked bird feeders. Other wildlife that can be seen in the area includes dolphins, porpoise and otters.

Within a 20 minute drive of the property you will find the world famous Three chimneys restaurant, Talisker distillery, Talisker bay, Glen Brittle, Sligachan, Portree, Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach, the Stein Inn and numerous other pubs, restaurants and shops.

All areas of Skye can easily be reached from this central location and for those who are visiting the Cuillin hills, with such a good view from the property, you can gauge what the weather is like at the summit. The owners are happy to check weather forecasts too.

Fir Chlis is the perfect base for you to explore the rest of Skye and the west coast of Scotland.

Set amongst 2? acres of natural grass land, this truly is a place to enjoy wildlife and nature from the comfort of the apartment, through the full height picture window.

Within walking distance of the property you will find The Ullinish Country Lodge Hotel, Oronsay Island (Tidal), ancient Souterrain and Dun Beag. Struan Village is also within walking distance where you will find a post office, shop, Coffee shop/Book shop and Cioch Direct.

Whilst being attached to the owners accommodation, the property maintains a private feel with its own entrance, parking space and garden/BBQ area.

The apartment is finished to a high standard with solid oak and Jerusalem limestone flooring, oak doors and mahogany picture window.

Included in the price is a breakfast pack, consisting of juice, cereals, milk, bread, butter, bacon, sausages and eggs. There is also a vegetarian breakfast pack as above, but with vegetarian sausages instead of meat.

Whilst this property is ideal for couples, we can provide a travel cot, bedding and high chair at a charge of £5.00.

For those who do enjoy outdoor pursuits, the owners accommodation has a large covered porch, where bikes and outdoor clothing can be left. Kayaks and other outdoor equipment are welcome to be stored on the large driveway.

Tariffs 2017

Winter - £250 per week
Summer - £420 per week

Short breaks available from £50 per night, minimum stay 3 nights.

Weekly bookings run from Friday to Friday.

At quiet periods shorter bookings may be available on request. Please contact us for further information and prices. Minimum stay is 3 nights.

Booking Terms & Payment

A deposit of 50% of the rental is payable upon booking. The balance shall be payable 12 weeks before the commencement of the rental. Non-payment of the balance of the rent on or before the due date shall be deemed as a cancellation of the contract by the client.

For bookings made less than 12 weeks prior to the commencement of the rental, the total fee is payable on booking. A booking fee of £15.00 is payable for each holiday paid by Paypal. Cash and cheque payments attract no fees. Please see our full Terms & Conditions.




No smoking. Sorry but we do not accept pets.

Rentals commence at 4.00 p.m. on the day of arrival and terminate at 11.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Location - How to Find Us

Arriving on Skye via the Skye Bridge

Take the A87 through Broadford, Luib, and Sconser. You will see the Sligachan Hotel on your left with signposts to Dunvegan A863, turn left here. From here it is about half an hour. Stay on this road and you will go through a township of Struan. Go through the village and you will see a left turn to Ullinish. Follow the road for 1 mile until you see a left turn (do not turn), about 100 metres past this turning on the right hand side is Fir Chlis.

Arriving on Skye from Mallaig to Armadale - via ferry

Take the A851 until you meet the A87 and turn left towards Broadford. Then follow the instructions from above.
