Welcome to The Old Mill Self Catering Accommodation, Kilmaluag, Isle of Skye
We welcome you to our self catering holiday cottage, set in a rural crofting community at the north end of the Isle of Skye. The cottage is not far from Staffin Bay and Uig which has ferry crossings to the islands of North Uist and Harris. It avoids a lot of the main summer tourist traffic, yet from there Portree, the island capital, can easily be accessed, and there is plenty to do and see in the locality.
The cottage is situated in Trotternish by a small river in Kilmaluag village. The cottage overlooks Kilmaluag Bay and Loch Kilmaluag, and to the rear are the ancient Trotternish Hills. Your accommodation is just a few yards off a peaceful road with its own parking. Kilmaluag is on the coastal road that runs around the northern tip of the Trotternish peninsula between Staffin and Uig and passes through the quiet settlements of Kilmuir, Duntulm, and Flodigarry.
The cottage is a relatively modern building with two of the four rooms fully en-suite. It can be accessed easily from the mainland via the Skye Bridge which is now toll-free, or via the ferry running from Mallaig to Armadale, or in the summer months via the original Skye ferry running between Glenelg and Kylerhea. It is also near the ferry terminal of Uig with regular crossings to Harris and North Uist.
The area is perfect for a relaxing retreat. There are many interesting places to visit, things to see and do, and activities in the locality, and extensive details about these can be viewed on the main website (see below).
The Old Mill is a family owned cottage with the owners Mr and Mrs Rankin living a few minutes away. A friendly welcome awaits you. English and Gaelic are spoken.
