The Old Inn provides luxury self catering accommodation in a traditional stone croft house with wonderful sea and mountain views on the Isle of Skye. Self catering accommodation at the Old Inn is available for up to 8 people, with parking facilities available and a garden. Pets will be allowed on request.
On your doorstep are the dramatic mountain pinnacles called The Quiraing, and the towering basalt cliffs of Kilt Rock.
The Old Inn itself has been a landmark in Staffin for over three centuries, and has in recent years been refurbished by Calum and Petra Macdonald. Now offering self catering accommodation, creature comforts include a state of the art plasma screen television, a conservatory with views of the Outer Hebrides and toilets upstairs and downstairs.
The Old Inn is ideally located for exploring the magical Isle of Skye or for just relaxing and enjoying the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
Staffin is located in the area of Skye known as Trotternish. This is the north-eastern wing of the Isle of Skye, and its name is derived from the Norse, meaning Thrond's Headland.
Trotternish can justifiably boast of having more than its fair share of natural beauty. Every turn of the road presents a magnificent prospect of mountains, moorland, lochs and sea.
Trotternish invites the visitor to discover adventure and beauty but it has something else to offer that goes a long way to make a holiday memorable - "hospitality". You will find people friendly and only too happy to help you or share their knowledge of the area with you. The culture is unique, orchestrated as it is by the ancient Gaelic language spoken and sung by the local people. If your idea of the perfect holiday is discovering interesting places, meeting friendly people and finding new things to do at a leisurely pace, then this area of Skye is the place for you.

- Modern/traditional spacious kitchen, with original slate floor and dining facilities, gas and electric range cooker, microwave oven, double stainless steel fridge freezer.
- Dining room adjacent to lounge (open plan), solid rosewood table, seats eight, traditional wrought iron arched fire place.
- Tongue & groove downstairs and upstairs toilet & bathroom furnished with antique suites.
- High ceiling hallway with hand crafted wooden staircase leading up to top floor carpeted landing and bedrooms.
- Two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom all offering spectacular sea views, furnished in traditional style.
- Spacious conservatory with breathtaking views over the sea to the Outer Hebrides islands of Harris and Lewis.
Facilities for your further comfort include:
- 37" plasma Samsung TV with over 30 channels, DVD, Radio/CD stereo system.
- Washing machine, ironing facilities and dryer.
- Duvets, bed linen, bath towels.

- Oil heating provided throughout the house.

Location - How to Find Us
Once you pass the Skye bridge, follow the main A87 road until you reach Portree, the island's capital. From Portree head north on the A855 and follow the signs for Staffin. This is a beautiful scenic coastal route, however please take care as some of the road is still single track!
As you enter the township of Staffin you will be presented with a fantasic vista of Staffin Bay and the Trotternish Ridge. Carry on down through the village, as you approach a signpost for 'Stenscholl' The Inn is on the right, through a gate and down a short drive.
By Coach
Citylink operate a service to Portree from Glasgow or Inverness. You can travel to both these destinations by air or train or for Coach connections to other parts of the UK try National Express.
By Air
Easyjet fly from London Luton Airport to Inverness daily. Easy Car Hire available at Inverness Airport. British Airways operate a service from London Gatwick to Inverness. Inverness is about three hours drive away by hire car, alternatively you can travel from here to Portree by Coach or to Kyle by train.
By Train
The night sleeper runs from London to either Inverness or Fort William. From Inverness, there are connections to Kyle of Lochalsh. From Fort William, there are connections to Mallaig (sometimes by the Jacobite Steamtrain). The ferry leaves from Mallaig to Armadale on Skye.
By Ferry
Caledonian MacBrayne operate a ferry from Mallaig to Armadale. Alternatively there is a small car ferry (seasonal) which runs from Glenelg to Kylerhea on Skye. This sailing is definitely worth doing if only for the scenery!
