Shorefield House is located in the north west of the Isle of Skye in the quiet village of Edinbane, which is midway between the main town of Portree and the historical Dunvegan castle. Shorefield House’s perfect location on the tip of Loch Greshornish allows guests to witness stunning sunsets and breath taking views of the scenery, for which Skye is well known.
Our friendly, family run, guest house offers high quality AA 4 Gold Star highly commended accommodation with facilities for disabled visitors just 20 minutes' drive from Portree and 8 miles east of Dunvegan Castle.
Set in this magical island, peacefully nestling in the village of Edinbane in north west Skye. Owned and run by Hilary and Peter Prall, Shorefield Guest House and self catering is a family run establishment offering a balance of comfortable high quality accommodation, with personal attention and homeliness to enhance your time on Skye.

Facilities
Bed and Breakfast: Accommodation comprises of 4 ensuite rooms - Twin/double and Family/triple - each with an individual touch. There is also a dining room which offers board games, toys, books and TV/DVD/Video access with a variety of DVD's/Videos to choose from. Shorefield House is prepared for those with mobility problems and has wheelchair-friendly facilities and ample parking.
Self Catering: There is also the newly added self catering option which sleeps 4/5 with a Kitchen/Diner, living room, double bed ensuite, twin bed ensuite and with extra beds and a cot available on request. Shorefield Self Catering has controllable heating throughout, with fitted carpets, except in the kitchen and bathroom which are attractively tiled.
Shorefield House is a non-smoking establishment. Sorry no pets.
Tariff/Prices
Bed and Breakfast: Room prices range from £37.00 to £49.00 per person per night. Short break holidays available.
Self Catering: Prices range from £295.00 to £545.00 per week.
Deposits
Bed and Breakfast
A deposit of the first night is required as confirmation of booking. Payment can be made either by credit card or by UK cheque (most major credit cards accepted). A confirmed booking means acceptance of conditions.
Self Catering
A deposit of £50.00 is required to make a booking and the balance of payment made 6 weeks prior to the date of entry.
Cancellations
In the case of cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation within 48 hrs of arrival means that 100% or the total room charge may apply if we are unable to re-let the accommodation. A 'no-show' will be charged the total rate. We strongly recommend that our guests take out travel insurance.
Season
The B&B is available from March to October. Our Self Catering unit is available all year round.
Breakfast
Peter and Hilary pride themselves in offering you an a-la-carte breakfast which has received an AA breakfast award.
Each breakfast is freshly cooked to individual tastes.
The menu includes the following breakfast choices:

- Vegetarian.
- Isle of Skye Fish.
- Traditional Scottish Grill.
- Childrens menu.
- Special diets are catered for where possible.
Arrival Times
Bed & Breakfast
Rooms are available from 4.00 p.m. (16.00 hrs) on the day of arrival. Earlier entry can normally be arranged on request. If you wish to arrive Later than 6.30 p.m. (18.30 hrs) please notify us, as rooms may be re-let after this time especially in the busy season.
Self Catering
Accommodation available from 4.00 p.m. on day of arrival. Vacation by 10.30 a.m. on day of departure.
Location - How to Find Us
By Car: From the Skye Bridge and Mallaig follow the A87 trough Broadford to Portree. Leave Portree on the A87 to Uig. After 4.5 Miles (7km) turn left on the A850 to Dunvegan. Travel 10 miles (16km) to Edinbane. From the Uig ferry follow the A87 for approximately 10 miles (16km). Turn right on the A850 to Dunvegan and travel 10 miles (16km) to Edinbane. Shorefield house is adjacent to Edinbane Pottery.
Coach: Portree.
Train Station: Kyle of Lochalsh.
Airport: Inverness.
