Tony and Judith Vaughn-Sharp look forward to welcoming you to Medina.
A modern tastefully furnished bungalow set in a peaceful old walled garden surrounded by trees close to the north shore of Portree bay yet within easy walking distance of the centre of Portree.
The two spacious double en-suite bedrooms are both situated on the ground floor, each with a comfortable king-size bed, equipped with an electric blanket for extra snugness, plus a hospitality tray, television, hairdryer, and a host of little extras to make you stay more enjoyable.
The modern en-suite bathrooms have a WC, a wash-hand basin, a shower plus a full size bath. Toiletries plus fluffy white towels including a large bath sheet are provided.
The ground floor Lounge/Dining Room is exclusively for guests' use.

A medina breakfast cooked on the aga will suit all tastes. The traditional selection includes the famous Stornoway black pudding and free range eggs. There is also an alternative choice of Mallaig Kippers, Smoked Haddock and Scottish Smoked Salmon.
Chilled fruits, yoghurts and cereals are offered in addition to traditional Scottish porridge, and all finished with toasted Bakers bread served with home made marmalade or jam. Special dietary requirements can be catered for (with prior notice).
In the evening guests are encouraged to sit quietly in the lounge to reflect on their day, and browse through the many lovely books including reference books, whilst deciding on the next day's plans with the help of the maps, guides and walking books.
On a sunny day there is the south facing garden to sit in where the only the sound is of the many garden birds - or it’s only a short stroll down to the north shore of Portree bay where seals and herons are regularly sighted. Close by is the popular coastal walk to Black Rock and Scorrybreac the ancestral home of the Nicholson Clan, where the wonderful views of the Cuillin Mountains and the Sound of Raasay can be experienced.
Leaving the car safely parked at Medina, Portree is only a 10 minute walk to find the many excellent restaurants, the shops, the bus terminal, and the picturesque old harbour from which many boat trips are available.
Portree, the island's capital, is situated centrally on the island and from it most major roads on Skye radiate. It is the ideal point from which to tour the island. Tony and Judith have over 35 years of experience of Tourism on Skye and are always delighted to give advice planning a day’s itinery, suggesting the many 'off the beaten track' treasures, arranging a boat trip, or making suggestions where to eat in the evening.

Tariff/Prices
£38.00 to £40.00 per person per night for bed and breakfast (double occupancy).
Payment
Cash/British bank cheques supported by a banker’s card/Sterling travellers cheques. All major credit cards accepted with the exception of American Express.
Making a Reservation
Guests are asked for their credit card details at the time of booking, plus an e-mail or a letter of confirmation if time permits. However the card would only be subsequently charged for non-arrival, or should we be unable to re-let the room after a cancellation. Only reservations of a minimum stay of 2 nights are accepted.

Location - How to Find Us
By Car - From the Skye Bridge/Armadale Ferry/ Uig Ferry
Take the A87 to Portree centre, pick up the signs for Staffin, the A855. This takes you onto the road above Portree bay. Just before the road bends sharply to the left, there is a large sign for the Cuillin Hills Hotel in a fork of the road, take the right fork down the hill, carry straight on down a second hill, alongside the shore. until a second large sign for the Cuillin Hills Hotel's reception at a T-junction at the bottom of a hill. Turn hard left up the hill and after approximately 200 metres there is a sign on the left for Medina, turn left into the walled garden and Medina is the first bungalow on the right.
By Taxi
There is a taxi rank in Portree square just alongside where the buses terminate, the taxi ride will only take 2 or 3 minutes.
