Neil and Mary welcome you to their recently built home, 'Culnacreag' situated on the family croft in Treaslane, a small crofting township of about 10 houses. The house is built in the upside down style with the bedrooms on ground level and the living area above. Situated on sloping ground the style affords splendid views across Loch Snizort, the shore some 200 meters distant, to the Trotternish ridge beyond. The bedrooms have floor to ceiling windows with a door to the outside to better take advantage of the views which include many small birds that come to our feeders and occasionally Golden and White Tailed Sea Eagles, Seals, Otters, sea birds, Dolphins and Porpoises.
Culnacreag is well situated for exploring the island, Portree the main town is some 9 miles away while Dunvegan with its castle is 12 miles. The Quirang, Fairy Glen, Old Man of Storr, Talisker Distillery, and Fairy Pools are all within a 30 mile drive.
Skye is very well served with places to eat, two close by are, Skeabost Hotel, about 3 miles from us in a lovely setting and beautifully finished has excellent food, and Edinbane Inn 4 miles distant has excellent food reasonably priced. Portree has many restaurants of varying quality and price and beyond Kinloch Lodge has its Michelin Star and the Three Chimneys. We are happy to help with recommendations and bookings.
From the buffet table a choice of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, a cheese board. Porrage is available and cooked breakfast from eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, home made potato scones. Scrambled egg and smoked salmon, a vegetarian option or pancakes with bacon and maple syrup are also on our menu. Freshly baked scones and a selection of teas or coffee with toast and preserves complete breakfast. Special dietary requirements can normally be catered for with a bit of notice.
We cater for a maximum of 4 adult guests in 2 double rooms. A cot for an infant and a put up bed for a child may be available at a small additional cost. Our room 1 is a good size with super kingsize bed and en-suite bath and separate shower. This room can also be set up as a twin if preferred. Room 2 is slightly smaller with a kingsize double bed and en-suite shower room. Both rooms have the same panoramic windows and door to the outside.

Culnacreag is situated in the small village of Treaslane some 9 miles from Portree, a few hundred yards from the A850, the main Portree to Dunvegan Road. Important Note for Sat-Nav Users, if you are coming from Fort William, you may want to set your route via Kyle of Lochalsh, so as to avoid the Mallaig Ferry. Note our post code is IV51 9NX.
From Portree, take the A87 to Uig/Dunvegan. After approximately. 4 miles take the left fork signposted Dunvegan A850. Continue on that road for about four miles, past Skeabost and Bernisdale, Treaslane is the next village. Turn right at the Treaslane sign (near the top of the hill) There is a bus shelter at the corner. Turn down into that road. Culnacreag is the first house you come to (approx.150 yards).
