A very warm welcome awaits you at Braes Retreat, a self-catering one-bedroom apartment with breath-taking views across the Sound of Raasay, where you can discover the true meaning of "getting away from it all".
Braes Retreat is located in the quiet and peaceful crofting community of Peinchorran, 8 miles south of Portree, the capital of the Isle of Skye, on the picturesque east coast of the island, just to the north of the awe-inspiring Red Cuillin mountains.
The apartment is perfect for either a couple or two friends as the bedroom can be set up as a double or twin room.
Accommodation
The accommodation, which is completely self-contained with its own entrance, adjoins our own home, Glamaig Cottage. We are therefore on hand should you have any queries whatsoever but at the same time the apartment offers truly peaceful and private accommodation. The property is set within a glorious garden, which has previously featured on television due to the variety of plants and serene tranquility created by the burn (stream) running through it.
The accommodation, which is on two floors, comprises of the following:
Downstairs
A bright and airy hallway, from which you can soak up and enjoy the fantastic view across the garden to the Isle of Raasay.
Newly fitted kitchen area, including microwave, gas cooker and fridge.
Open plan lounge and dining area with a traditional wood-burning stove, two-seater settee plus chair, flat screen television, DVD player, CD player and various books.
Upstairs
A luxurious bedroom including gallery landing with ever-changing panoramic views across the Sound of Raasay and to the mountains of the mainland. The super-kingsize bed can be made-up as 2 single beds, with prior notice.
A compact shower room with WC, wash-hand basin and shaver point.
Please note: Access to the apartment is via a stone-stepped pathway from the entrance to the property.

Tariff/Prices
Prices range from £405 - £425 per week.
The apartment is available from May to September (inclusive) and Christmas & New Year. Please note the apartment can accommodate a maximum of 2 people.
Booking secured with £100 deposit cheque made payable to Robert Blake, balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival, or full amount can be paid using PayPal via our website. Please download a copy of our Term & Conditions.
Electricity and heating included (extra charge for use of stove.)
Linen, towels and tea towels included.

Location - How to Find Us
On arrival on the Isle of Skye head for Portree on the A87.
Approximately 2 miles before you reach Portree, take the right-hand turning sign-posted "The Braes" Please note this turning is on quite a sharp left-hand bend in the main road.
After half a mile turn right at the T-junction and then travel down this single track road for approximately 4½ miles.
Turn left at the road signposted "Gedintailor, Balmeanach and Peinchorran" and continue along this road, entering Peinchorran after 1 mile.
Continue along the road. It bends sharply to the right and then the signpost and entrance to Glamaig Cottage (Braes Retreat) can be found just on the left at the T junction.
