Overlooking the bay at Brother's Point in Valtos, Beinn Edra is a newly built house with all the comforts you would expect as a 'home from home'. It is situated 15 minutes north of Portree and 25 minutes south of Uig, the ferry port for the Outer Isles.
The house is minutes walk from fishing in the sea or climbing up and over the Trotternish Ridge to the Quiraing or just having a peaceful day out sightseeing in the car. This makes Beinn Edra an ideal bed and breakfast or self-catering option for the world weary coming to Skye for some peace and quiet.
In the morning come through to a delicious breakfast in the large kitchen diner with views overlooking Brother's Point and, if you are early enough, you may even see the sun rise in spectacular style before sampling the delights of a full Scottish Breakfast or a lighter version for those with less hearty appetites.
We try to use as much local produce as possible and to make your stay with us one you will remember for years to come.

Double Bedroom
This spacious bedroom has a luxurious King Size bed for a good night's sleep. There is plenty of drawer and cupboard space - probably more than you would ever need. Bedside tables are also in the room with table lights. The room is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and also Sky television. All bath and hand towels are provided.
Twin Bedroom
This bedroom has all the facilities of the Double Room (as listed above) with the exception of the bed which is a Super King Size that can be turned into Twin beds.
All rooms have Wi-Fi.
Self Catering
Self Catering Annexe
Attached to the main house is a luxurious annexe for the couple who would rather have a self-catering holiday. The cottage has its own separate entry door and is completely self-contained.
Bedroom
The bedroom has a Super King sized bed that can be turned into twin beds if required. The room is furnished with plenty of cupboard space, sideboard and dressing table. There is also a child's bed (up to age 5). A travel cot and highchair are also available should they be required.
Shower Room
The shower room is a spacious area fully tiled and with shower. There is the usual WC and sink along with plenty of cupboard space and valet table. The shower room also has a ladder heater for drying towels.
Lounge
The lounge is equipped with two seater and three seater settees both of the highest quality. There is a drop-leaf table for dining along with widescreen television with Sky, DVD player - CD and radio. The lounge is centrally heated (as is the entire cottage).
Kitchen
The Kitchen is situated at the far end of the Lounge area. It is fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob, toaster and kettle. It also has lots of cupboard space full of crockery and utensils.
Also in the cottage is a large cupboard space off the hallway that has an ironing board and iron with plenty of space for your suitcases and bulky items. There are sliding doors in the lounge to the exclusive patio area and the cottage is accessible by its own entry door. Not to forget the fantastic views from the Lounge windows.
All rooms have Wi-Fi.

Season
Both our B&B and Self Catering Annexe are available all year round.
If you take the option of bed and breakfast then you don't have to worry too much about local shops etc; but for those of you who would like self catering, there are two shops in Staffin, which is 5 minutes drive from the house. There is also a petrol station at one of the shops. Staffin has the Columba Centre which is usually open for snacks and meals. In Culnacnoc there is the Glenview Hotel with its award-winning restaurant.
In Portree there is always the supermarket. Also in Portree you will find many restaurants, small interesting shops, chemist, Gathering Hall (where concerts are frequently performed), The Aros Centre, swimming pool, leisure centre and, of course, the harbour - where you can also take boat trips out to marvel at the local sea-life and perhaps catch sight of the sea-eagles, which nest in the area.
Tariff/Prices
Bed and Breakfast
£30.00 per person per night.
Self Catering
Ranging from £210 to £420 per week (depending on season).
Deposits
Bed and Breakfast
We require a non-refundable booking deposit of £30.00 from guests resident in the UK, by cheque made payable to Rachel Morrison. We do not require a deposit from overseas guests, we are sorry but we do not accept debit or credit cards.
Self Catering
A deposit of £100.00 and remainder to be paid six weeks prior to holiday.
Cancellations
In the case of cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation within 48 hrs of arrival means that 100% or the total room charge may apply if we are unable to re-let the accommodation. A 'no-show' will be charged the total rate. We strongly recommend that our guests take out travel insurance.
Arrival Times
Between 3.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. unless otherwise agreed at time of booking. Rooms to be vacated at 10.00 a.m. on day of departure.
