![]() | Welcome to Ardtreck Cottage Bed & Breakfast, Fiskavaig, |
If you are looking for an escape from the urban grind, for a few days, a week, or a weekend, in winter or summer, John and Irene Curren are waiting to welcome you to Ardtreck Cottage and introduce you to the best of Skye.
Ardtreck Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation as a base to explore the island of Skye; as a short, but spectacular, stop on a tour of the Western Highlands; or simply a welcoming bed and breakfast accommodation where you can enjoy the peace and quiet solitude of north west Skye to a backdrop of one of the best views on the island.
Ardtreck Cottage provides bed and breakfast accommodation, with the option of evening meals, from 1st March to 31st October in two double, en suite, bedrooms, and one twin bedroom with its own, large, private, bathroom.
The Cottage is situated on the edge of Fiskavaig Bay in North West Skye. The house has panoramic views, west, over Loch Bracadale, to South Uist and Benbecula in the Western Isles, and north, over the islands of Wiay and Oronsay, to MacLeod’s Tables, with a glimpse of McLeod’s Maidens, peeping into view, round Idrigill Point.
If you are lucky you might be able to watch Golden and Sea Eagles from the Cottage, or nearby, and perhaps see otters, seals, basking sharks, porpoises or dolphins in the Bay.

Location - How to Find Us
Getting to the Cottage is quite easy (as long as you don’t rely on sat-nav) and takes about 1 hour from the Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh and a little longer from the ferry terminal at Armadale.
After crossing the bridge turn right at the first roundabout and follow the main road (A87), north, towards Portree, until you reach the junction with the A863, signposted to Dunvegan, just before the Sligachan Hotel.
Turn left onto the A863 and follow this road for about 5 miles (9 km) to the junction with the B8009 at Drynoch, signposted to Carbost and Talisker Distillery.
Turn left onto the B8009 and keep right at all minor junctions along this road until you arrive at the village of Carbost.
Drive down the hill and through the village and just after Talisker Distillery the road turns sharp left, up Talisker Brae, turning sharp right on a hairpin bend at the top. Continue on this road to Portnalong through the village of Fernilea. At a T junction in Portnalong, just before the Taigh Ailean hotel turn left towards Fiskavaig. There is a small sign post to the Cottage at this junction.
Turn right to Fiskavaig and keep on this road, ignoring the sign post to "Ardtreck", but continue on the main road past the "Fiskavaig" sign. Soon after the Fiskavaig sign the road drops sharply down, over a small bridge, turning right up a short, steep, hill, with farm buildings on your right. At the top of the small hill there is a sign to "Ardtreck Cottage" just before a red mail box. Turn right, opposite Bridge House, onto the sign-posted road which will lead you to the Cottage.
