Peacefully located on the Harlosh Peninsular and only minutes from Dunvegan Castle, Altvaid B&B is ideal for exploring the northern and western corners of Skye, if not the entire island.
The breathtaking scenery will inspire you no matter where you go in Skye. With ample outdoor activities, tourist destinations to enjoy and fantastic tales of Highland history to unravel, it’s an experience you’re sure to treasure.
All our guests can be assured of a hearty breakfast with your choice of an English, Scottish, Continental, Vegetarian or Vegan menu.
From your breakfast table, enjoy either a stunning view stretching across Loch Bracadale to the magnificent McLeod’s Tables, or if you prefer less view and more flowers, you are most welcome to eat out in the enclosed rose garden.

We’re open all year round, so please contact us to check on season availability.
Rooms are non-smoking, but smoking is allowed in the garden.

Packed Lunches
We are happy to provide packed lunches for guests for only £5.50 per person. For a fresh lunch we need to purchase local produce beforehand, if possible, please order your lunch pack a day before it is required.

Tariff/Prices
Double Room - £30 per person per night.
Twin Room - £25 per person per night.
Single occupancy or young children by arrangement.
Deposit
A non-refundable booking deposit of £10 or 10% whichever is the larger is required, paid by cheque with the reservation (unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept credit cards or travelers’ cheques). Please make the cheque payable to Peter Ewbank and post to:
Altvaid B&B, 6 Altvaid, Harlosh by Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, IV55 8ZF.
Final payment made in cash (£ sterling). We are sorry, but Altvaid cannot accept credit or debit cards.
Check-in time is 4.00 p.m. or by arrangement. If you should be running late please telephone us to advise us of your expected arrival time.
Cancellations
In case of cancellations, the deposit is non-refundable. We request 48 hours notice of cancellation. Failure to provide this will result in your being liable to pay the full cost of your pre-booked accommodation. If you fail to arrive on the day of your booking we will consider your booking to be void and reserve the right to re-let the accommodation.

Location - How to Find Us
From the Skye Bridge
It will take you just under an hour. Follow the signs to Portree (A87) as far as Sligachan Hotel and camping grounds and then take the left turn toward Dunvegan (A863). Continue for 13 miles. 4 miles after the village of Struan you’ll find the (Feolig) Harlosh loop road turn-off on the left hand side of the road. Follow that around the peninsular to a T-intersection (with a telephone booth to your left). Turn right and continue 1 mile. Altvaid B&B is just beyond the first crest on your right featuring a bridge and pond in the front garden.
From Portree
It will take about 35 minutes. Leaving Portree on the A87 travel 4 miles before turning left onto the A850 and follow the road all the way to the Dunvegan. Turn hard left onto the A863 and continue through Dunvegan for 3 miles to the sign posted (Vatten) Harlosh loop road turn-off. Follow the road for approximately 2 miles just before the crest of the second hill. Altvaid B&B is on your left.
